Terorist? Tsunami? Corruption?
Yes you're right!!
Cilacap is the only access to go to Nusa Kambangan, the famous isolated jail island where most giant criminals go to. Corruptors, terrorists, drug users & distributors, murders, and all that 'Wanted' people. Nusa Kambangan even has special area named Super Maximum Security. gushbum!
In 2008, a 6 SR of earthquake made Cilacap more well known due to hundreds of victims and the destruction caused by 'little' tsunami. No wonder, because Cilacap is located at South Java Beach that is known as the most dangerous-mystic beach in Indonesia.
And in 2010, one more predicate is dedicated to Cilacap related to its don't-try-it-at-your-company Good Corporate Governance. The Subcity leader, or Bupati was jailed due to the biggest corruption case in Central Java. The Bupati was stated for 9 years life in jail related to more than Rp 20 billion inappropriate state budget utilization.
Do you curious why Cilacap has so many unique correlation?
Let me add more...
Cilacap has 2 big industries, which are Pertamina Refinery Unit IV and Holcim factory. Pertamina RU IV is the biggest crude oil refinery in Indonesia. and Cilacap cement factory supplies most Holcim demand.
Then...what do you expect from a city that has 2 big industries? -not include its famous traditional medicine center-
Domino effect. it is the chance for smaller industries and micro business to capture industries needs. moreover, lot of people that have high consumption level also become potential market that shouldn't be missed.
But what happened?
This lovely hot city only have one big supermarket & departement store as shopping destination. almost same condition happens in food & beverages business, beauty & apperal center, entertainment facilities, etc.
This city is totally represents a picture when chicken death in its own full-food-cage.

But do I like live in here for the last month?
Yes I did.
